CASE # <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO SECTION 9.21 <br /> (ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION) OF THE CITY CODE <br /> By: Sylvia Frolik, Community Development Director <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey is located on the northern end of the state Mississippi River Critical Area <br />Corridor, regulated by the State Critical Areas Act and Executive Order 79-19, and the southern <br />end of a portion of the Mississippi River, is regulated by the State Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. <br />Ramsey is especially unique in that lands along the Mississippi River are regulated by both Acts. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Ramsey City Staff has been working with DNR and Hoisington Koegler to update Ramsey's <br />critical river regulations per Executive Order #79-19. The current draR of the new ordinance is <br />enclosed for review and comment. <br /> <br />City Staff will provide a report at the meeting regarding the major changes proposed to the <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends that the proposed revisions to the critical river regulations be forwarded <br />to Council for adoption. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council adopt the proposed ordinance to update the Mississippi <br />Critical River Regulations of City Code. <br /> <br />PC: 03/02/06 <br /> <br />87 <br /> <br /> <br />
