oc£/ qTOAr <br /> <br /> YOUTH FIRST <br />MAYORS' PRAYER BREAKFAST DAY <br />FRIDAY, MARCH 17, 2006 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Andover, Anoka, and Ramsey, together with Anoka County <br />and Anoka-Hennepin School District #11, joined together in 1995 to form the <br />Northwest Anoka County Community Consortium, designed to create a public-private <br />community partnership to focus on better de(Nery of existing public services to <br />children and young adults; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Consortium is focusing on implementing a community-wide vision for <br />positive youth development and a detailed action plan to implement the results of the <br />Search Institute's Youth Needs Assessment Survey; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Consortium oversees the initiative, known as Youth First, which is <br />responsib[e for accomplishing this action plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Consortium and Youth First encourage community partnerships to <br />improve the factors inhibiting healthy development of youth identified in the study to <br />assist youth in increasing their ability to make positive choices in their lives; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Annual Mayors' Prayer Breakfast serves to solidify our communities <br />resolve in developing positive assets for our youth. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that Friday, March 17, 2006, be declared <br />Youth First Day in the cities of Andover, Anoka and Ramsey, and a Mayors' Prayer <br />Breakfast will be held an that day in support of the Youth First initiative. We call <br />upon the citizens in our communities to assist the work of the Northwest Anoka <br />County Community Consortium and Youth First to implement a unified vision for <br />positive youth development in our communities. <br /> <br />Bjorn E.
