Debra Moss
8320 - 157th Lane NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

RE: Mowing of weeds in 0utlots A & B in Whispering Pines
Estates Plat #3

DeaP MPs. Moss:

In response to your call on August 5, 1981, I contacted the City's
Public Works Superintendent, Mr. Merle Mevlssen, about cutting
the Weeds in the'above two outlotk. He stated that Mr. Chapman,
who con%facts with the'City, attempted to 6ut the weeds in the
above area~ but due to %he large amount of debris deposited there,
he puncturedhis tractor'tire. Accordingly, Mr. Chapman won't Eo
hack in there until the area is cleaned up. The Public Works Super-
intendent stated that his crew will police the area, but due to the
work priorities they have, they won't be getting to this project
right away.

I did discuss with you over the phone about the debris that has been
deposited by people in the above lots. It is very costly for the
City to stop its work to police areas inasmuch as we only have a
three (3) mn public works crew to maintain all City streets and
parks. Accordingly, ~e have to establish work priorit~ohs which
are most beneficia! to the whole City in regards to cost of operating
the City.

I w~]l be taking this issue to the Council on August 18, 1981 to keep
them informed of these problems.

If you have any fumther questions on this issue, please call ma.

cc.'

Public Works Superintendent
City Couscil~-
