CASE #13: REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC STUDY ON VARIOLITE: CASE #14: CASE #15:' The Chief of Police is requesting that Council request a traffic study be done by the Minnesota Department of Transportation as soon as possible. The Minnesota Transportation Department establishes the speed limits on our State Aid streets. Presently Varlolite Street does not have speed limit signs which means the limit is 55 miles per hoLu% However, it is felt that after the State does its traffic study, it will have the same speed limit as 153rd which is 45 miles per hour. Council Action: Your action will be to adopt the resolution contained as enclosure (D2-k) which r~quests that the Minnesota Transportation do this traffic study. MR. WES BULEN TO DISCUSS GOLF COURSE: M~. Wes Bulen will be coming before the City Council to discuss this golf course. I think it's important at this time fop Council to inform M~. Bulen that he must follow' the step p~ocedume and that you can't really promise him or approve anything until he goes through the procedure. You' have informed'him at your last meeting that a golf course out in that area would be nice and you wouldn't be opposed to it. However, you should also inform him as long as it confdrms to the codes, etc. I met with him Tuesday morning, August ii, 1981 and we had a very fine discussion'on'his proposed golf course and I did explain to him about certain requirements that youwill expect and I think he thinks you'have given you~ complete blessing to it. This could be a very expensive 9entu~e for this gentle- man and I think you'all should point this out. RAMSEYLANDFILL: City Attorney will discuss the ~ecent developments ~egardi~g .. .... the landfill contract with Council at the' meeting. Enclosure (DR-l) contains a memo from the City Attorney in regards to this issue. CounCil 'Action~ You~ action will be to approve/disapprove adopting the resolution the City Attorney will have available at the meeting.
