The reduced assessment credit is for <br />a reduction in taxable value which is given to mult -unit buildings <br />which or elde <br />of rly families and to homesteads <br />You're not very likely to be receiving large amounts for these credits <br />because there are few wetlands and native prairie lands in the state <br />and few buildings and homesteads of the type mentioned above. Also, <br />the amount allotted for these credits by the legislature is small. <br />Now, let me explain about your check perhaps being less than you expected. <br />• What'has happened is that the legislature has changed the dates the <br />payments of aids and credits are made on, an d it has changed the number <br />of payment installments. <br />The changes in the dates of payment and the number of installments were <br />made by the legislature in its June 6th extra session. However, not <br />ion <br />until July 2nd - -when the legislature gave the state the authorizat be <br />to borrow more money - -was it clear that the payments <br />made. If it had been clear earlier, we would have let you know sooner. <br />Vie realize this is short notice, and it may cause you some inconvenience. - <br />' Basically, the reason why your check may be less than you expected is <br />that -- starting with this check -- payment of your aids and credits will <br />be made in more installments than in the past. <br />Under the old schedule, if you are a town, city or county, you were paid <br />the local government aid payment in four equal installments - -on March 15, <br />July 15 September 15 and November 15.. <br />over <br />
