PUBLIC HEARING City of Ramsey Anoka County State of Minnesota Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a public he~ringregarding the Street Improvement Project #80-12 (177th, 179th, Tonto, yakima, 178th) on October 15, 1980, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303· Members Present: Mayor Camec Councilman Sorteberg Councilman Reimann Councilman Cox Mayor Gamec called the meeting to order at 8:40 P~M. Mayor Camec said the project h~i not been finished yet and there ~a~ ditch work, culverts, driveway repairs, etc. to be done. Mr. Bill Hensley, l?~th Ave. N.W. Mr. Hensley commented that H & S did a very good job and were very helpful and there was a minimum of inconvenience to the homeowners in the area. Ms. Diane Hanson, 5111 - 179th Ave. N.W. Ms. Hanson said she didn't feel they should h~ve to pay two assessments and she lives on the corner on 179th & yakima. Mayor Gamec said city. staff would prepare a finding of fact and make a decision on this at the regular council meeting on the 28th of October, 1980. Ms. Hanson said she was told that across from them the lots were unbuildable, but there are houses on some of them now. Mayor Gamec said a new ordinance went in about two years ago and if these lots are brought up to standard, then they will have to pay an assessment at the time they apply for a building permit. Ms. Hanson said there ~e very few people who have to drive on 179th. City Engineer Raatikka said looking at the soil, it wouldn't meet the city o~dinance and the DNR wouldn't allow that area to be developed. Ms. Hanson asked if the owner of that property was being assessed anything. City Engineer Raatikka said the owner is being assessed one unit. PUBLIC HEARING October 15, 1980 Page i
