City of Ramsey
15153 NOWTHEN BOULEVARD N.W., RAMSEY, MINNESOTA 55303 · {612) 427-1410

November 13, 1980

Ms. Terry Hoffman
Executive Director
1935 West County Road B-2
Roseville, l~innesota 55113

~LE: Hauling contaminated material to Ramsey Landfill

Dear 5~s. Hoffman:
It has been brought to the Ramsey City Council's attention that contami-
nated material was hauled into the R~msey Landfill from the Bilger Ware-
house fire. It was also brought to their attention that even Anoka County
Comprehensive Health was unaware that this contaminated material was hauled
into the Ramsey Landfill. The citizens who reside adjacent to the La~dfill
brought it to the attention of Anoka County and the Ramsey City Council that
these pollutants had been dumped in the Ra~sey Landfill.
Consequently, in view of the above, it appears that the }~nnesota Pollution
Control Agency has little regards for local governing bodies (County Boards
and City Council) and feel they can ride rough shod over them.
We want to point out to you here and now we don't ever want to see another
repeat of this type of arbitrary action of such a serious nature from this
State Agency. We also want a complete report submitted on tills case and we
want it no later than November 24, 1980, as our City Council wants to re-
view it at their regular meeting on November 25, 1980.

Sincerely,

CITY OF RA}iSEY

Thomas G.
