The following summarizes the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's
-
position regarding the four items in that resolution:
Item 1. It is the Agency's understanding that you have now received a copy
of Ingrid Ritchie's report entitled, Migration of Landfill Products From the
Anoka Sanitary Landfill Located at Ramsey, dated September 26, 1980. This
report discusses in detail the concerns you raised in Item 1, namely the
specific data from which Anoka County based its opinion and conclusions. The
Agency worked closely with the Minnesota Health Department and Anoka County
in gathering and review of the data presented in this report and we are in
substantial agreement with the conclusions presented therein. We furthermore
assure you that Solid Waste Division staff had considerable input into the
conclusions and recommendations made in Mr. Ralph McGinley's letter to the
City of Ramsey dated September 15, 1980.
Items 2 and 4 which you also referenced in your letter are exclusively county
responsibilities even though the city may wish to consult the Agency about
these activities.
Phone: 612-297-2724
1935 West County Road B2, Roseville, Minnesota 55113
Regional Offices.
