5) Paragraph VIII of Section 170.015I of the City Code in Regards to <br />Ordinance Change as Pertaining to House Size <br />Councilman Cox commented that Mr. Carson gave a good presentation on <br />smaller type housing sizes. <br />Discussion was held on the Planning E Zoning Commission's recommended sizes <br />and the E.D.C.'s recommended sizes. <br />Councilman Cox said he thought 672 sq. ft. for two -story homes is not realistic. <br />o <br />Mr. Carson said not many two -story homes are being built in Ramsey <br />Mayor Gamec asked about using what Ramsey sizes are now and just eliminating <br />the garage requirement. <br />Mr. Carson said the house sizes needed to be reduced to bring them down to <br />a cost low enough. <br />Councilman Nickelson said he could see a rambler smaller than 960 sq. ft. <br />for someone who is going to build a two - bedroom rambler. <br />Councilman Sorteberg suggested adding a smaller -type rambler with garage. <br />Ron pest said the older clientele will buy the smaller -type rambler, <br />but not the first -home buyer. <br />Mr. Carson said they were going to start taking applications shortly. <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to approve <br />changing the present house size requirements in Paragraph VIII of Section 170.015I <br />of the City Code to 960 sq. ft. for Ramblers, 912 sq. ft. for Splits and <br />720 sq. ft. for Two -Story Homes, all with no garages, and 768 sq. ft. for <br />a Rambler with a minimum of 440 sq. ft. garage. <br />Motion carried. Voting yes -Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no -None. <br />Mayor Gamec noted this will have to be published. <br />Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Cox to adjourn <br />the special council meeting. <br />Motion carried. Voting yes -Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox.
