Stillwater <br />Population 19.464 <br />............ . ... .... .... <br />3.03 Filling of vacancies. <br />When a vacancy occurs in the office of Mayor or on the Council, the Council by majority vote of all remaining <br />members shall appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy to serve the remainder of the term. if this action is not <br />taken within 6.0 days following the occurrence of the vacancy, a special election shall be called to fill the vacancy, <br />to be held not sooner than 90 days and not later than 120 days following the occurrence of the vacancy, and to be <br />otherwise governed by law. When a vacancy occurs in the office of the Mayor, the Vice -Mayor shall act as Mayor <br />until the vacancy is filled. <br />(Ord. No. 822, 5-21-96; Ord.
