Assistant Public Works Director Olson advised this can be included in the standard detail for <br />curb stops. The curb stops cannot be required, however, because driveway permits are not <br />required. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook suggested information regarding the curb stops be included in the Ramsey <br />Resident. <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson inquired who would pay for the cost of the curb stop in a new home. <br /> <br />Parks Lead Worker Nelson replied the curb stop would be the responsibility of the developer. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to recommend the City <br />Council direct staff to pumhase and inventory the curb stops outlined above and sell them back <br />to builders and residents per a fee to include the cost of administration. Original purchase would <br />be made from the Water Utility Enterprise Fund (9601) which would be credited back when <br />structures are sold. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Councilmembers Olson and Cook. Voting No: <br />None. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Public Works Director Kapler advised the City will inventory a standard <br />model of curb stops. Chairperson Elvig asked how the homeowner or developer will be made <br />aware of the specifications for these curb stops. Public Works Director Kapler replied this <br />information would be included in the City's standards. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig indicated he will be providing staff with an address north of Sunwood Drive <br />where residents have complained about a couple of loud manholes. <br /> <br />Case #3: Convert Auxiliary Power at Pump House #3 <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson reviewed that Pump House #3 was constructed with a <br />propane powered Auxiliary generator to provide power if regular electric service is interrupted. <br />Propane was chosen as the fuel source because natural gas service was not available to the site. <br />The Ramsey Town Center development has made natural gas service available to the site. He <br />stated the City has applied to Center Point Energy for gas service. Staff has contacted the <br />supplier of the generator and requested pricing for converting the generator from propane to <br />natural gas. The estimated fee is $3,000. Standard policy will be followed in soliciting and <br />approving the quotations prior to any work being performed. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson advised staff recommends submitting the request for gas <br />service.
