CASE # <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND LEVY SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FOR IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT 0240 SANITARY SEWER WATERMAIN AND STORM SEWER <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO OAK TERRACE ESTATES MOBILE HOME PARK <br /> By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />This project consists of the extension of municipal sanitary sewer and watermain to the Oak <br />Terrace Estates Mobile Home Park. The project also includes providing storm sewer <br />improvements to the park. The project was awarded on September 27, 2005 and work on the <br />project has been substantially completed. This project is being assessed based upon the cost of <br />the work completed to date along with the estimaied costs of the minor restoration work to be <br />completed this spring. .. <br /> <br />Financing for this project will come primarily from assessment to the Oak Terrace Estates <br />Mobile Home Park which was the sole petitioner for this improvement. However, $$2,297 of <br />the total project cost will be paid from the City sewer and water trunk funds to cover the cost <br />of watermain looping and the extension of sanitary sewer to the mobile home property. These <br />trunk fund expenditures will be offset by the mobile home's assessed contribution of <br />$275,466 to the trunk fund for 93 units which are now connected to the City municipal sewer <br />and water systems. A summary of the project cost and financing is presented below: <br /> <br />Total Construction Cost $ 411,588 <br />Total Overhead Cost $ 88,987 <br />Trunk $ & W Charges (93 units @ $2,962per unit) $ 275,466 <br />Total Assessable Costs $ 723,745 <br />Total Project Cost $ 776,041 <br /> <br />, SAC & WAC (Charges separate from assessments) $ 294,624 <br /> Total Cost to Trailer Park $ 1,018,369 <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Following the close of the Public Hearing, adopt the attached resolution levying special <br />assessments for Improvement Projects #02-40. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #06-03-XXX Adopting Assessment for Improvement Project <br />#02-40. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Assistant Public Works Director/Principal Engineer <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />CC: 03/14/06 <br /> <br />-135- <br /> <br /> <br />
