Oakwood Land or 'Brookfield' Property <br /> 22-acres of property west of Co. Rd. #5 paralleling the south side of Trott Brook for <br /> approximately Y4 mile. Property is a mix of treed slopes, upland and wetland; and is <br /> suitable for an east/west bituminous trail. Acquisition would be a Conservation and Trail <br /> Easement for public use; appraised value - $76,400. <br /> <br />A map will be provided at the meeting that shows the existing park land along Trott Brook, and <br />the three sites proposed to be acquired. The funding source would be solely LCMR funds, <br />including all real-estate transaction costs, which will be between approximately $500, to $5,000 <br />per parcel. Because the precise acquisition costs are not known, (site surveys, title work or <br />possible appraisal updates), Council's sample motion does not include a dollar reference. <br />Rather, the motion would approve these acquisitions conditionally upon available funds within <br />the LCIViR g~ant, as well as City Attorney and Cit~Administrator approval. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staffrecommends approving the acquisition of land for conservation and/or conservation and <br />trail purposes known as the; Harstad, Nat'l Growth Inc., and Brookfield properties - utilizing <br />LCMR funds, and subject to all applicable laws and approval by both the City Attorney and <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve the acquisition of land for conservation and/or conservation and trail purposes <br />known as the; Harstad, Nat'l Growth Inc., and Brookfield properties - utilizing LCMR funds, <br />and subject to all applicable laws and approval by both the City Attorney and Administrator. <br /> <br />CC: 3/14/06 <br /> <br />- 140- <br /> <br /> <br />
