4) <br /> <br />Consider Authorizing a Temporary Reduction in Hours for the Full-Time <br />Regular Associate Planner <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook explained Amy Geisler, full-time regular Associate Planner, is currently <br />on a leave of absence and is scheduled to return to work on February 27, 2006. Ms. Geisler has <br />requested a reduction in hours from 40 hours per week to 24 hours per week for the period of <br />February 27t~ through June 1st. After June 1st, Ms. Geisler will resume full-time hoars. Staffhas <br />discussed this matter with the Community Development Director and Assistant Director and they <br />believe that the department can cover the workload for a temporary period, if this request is <br />approved. It is the recommendation of staff and the Personnel Committee to approve the <br />temporary reduction in work hours. <br /> <br />5) Consider Approving 2006 AFSCME Labor Agreement <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated on Wednesday, February 8, 2006, staff and AFSCME reached <br />tentative agreement on a one-year labor agreement. This is the last of the union agreements to be <br />approved. He noted a Memorandum of Understanding was included in the agreement by the <br />request of the union. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Case Nos. 1 through 5 and to adopt Resolution <br />#06-02-048 appointing the following board and commission members: <br /> <br />Park and Recreation commission · Mr. Steven Hansen to a term expiring Dec. 31, 2008 <br /> · Ms. Amber Erickson to a term expiring Dec. 31, 2009 <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority <br /> · Mr. Martin Schindel to a term expiring Dec. 31, 2011 <br /> <br />Public Safety Board <br /> · Ms. Suzanne Bollman to a term expiring Dec. 31, 2009 <br /> <br />And to adopt Resolution #06-02-049 noting Mr. Norman's satisfactory performance and <br />amending his employment agreement to include monthly City contributions totaling $5,400 <br />annually to deferred compensation, and authorize Mayor Garnet to execute the addendum to Mr. <br />Norman's employment agreement; to adopt Resolution #06-02-050 ending the probationary <br />period for Ms. Dairies and granting status as a full-time regular Associate Planner; to adopt <br />Resolution #06-02-051 authorizing the Associate Plarmer, Amy Geisler, to work a part-time <br />schedule February 27, 2006 through June 1, 2006; and to adopt Resolution #06-02-052 <br />approving the listed changes to the City's labor agreement with AFSCME. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gamec suggested the Councilmembers receive a copy of applications <br />or letters of interest from applicants to boards and commissions. This would provide the Council <br />with an opportunity to comment on the applicants. City Administrator Norman indicated a <br />summary of the applicants will be provided to the Council.
