Best management practices (and Metropolitan Council website) <br />Definitions and classifications of wetlands <br />Where to find more information <br />Purpose of guidebook <br />Relevant federal and state enabling legislation on water matters, including a <br />timeline so it is made known that these rules are not new. <br />Benefits of wetlands, including promotion of neighborhood or group efforts <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Olds and seconded by Committee Member Max to approve the <br />Wetland Guidebook outline as drafted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Committee Members Max, Sitz and Olds. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Members Bauer and Connolly. <br /> <br />It was suggested that the Guidebook Outline be forwarded to the 6 guest speakers that visited <br />with the EPTF this past summer for their comments and suggestions. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda volunteered to obtain pictures of various wetland types and obtain copies <br />of best management practices from Met Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik was directed to contact Loren Gordon to confirm his attendance at the December 6 <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Case #2: Update On Tree Research <br /> <br />Committee Member Max stated that there is a voluntary research team at the U of M. For next <br />year's project, the research team is considering monitoring a new residential development that <br />will be planting new trees. They hope to document what species do well and which do not do <br />well at new construction sites. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Sitz and seconded by Committee Member Olds to direct Mr. <br />Max to work with City Staff to identify likely candidate projects sites in Ramsey and put the <br />developer in touch with the U of M research team. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Committee Members Max, Sitz and Olds. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Members Bauer and Connolly. <br /> <br />TASK FORCE INPUT <br /> <br />a. Update on Formation of Permanent Environmental Policy Board. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik reported that the proposed ordinance to establish a permanent <br />Environmental Policy Board is being submitted to City Council on November 23rd for <br />introduction. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the Mayor's comment that for continuity purposes, the <br />existing members of the Task Force should be appointed to the Board. Ms. Sitz and <br />Mr. Max stated an interest in being appointed to the Board; Mr. McDilda stated that <br />he is not ready to commit at this point. <br /> <br />EPTF November 22, 2004 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
