CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 03/28/2023 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #23-066 Appointing and Re -appointing Board and Commission Members <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to appoint and re -appoint members to the City's Boards and Commissions. <br />5.10. <br />The City Council is responsible for appointing board and commission members to the Economic Development <br />Authority (EDA), the Environmental Policy Board (EPB), the Park and Recreation Commission and the Planning <br />Commission. It should be noted that the Mayor, per Minnesota Statute 469.095 has authority over the EDA <br />appointment with approval of the City Council. <br />Staff conducted the annual boards and commissions recruitment process for terms beginning April 1, 2023. <br />Vacancies were advertised in the Ramsey Resident, the Anoka County Union, on the City's website, on QCTV, <br />on the City's Facebook, and via the City's email notification system. <br />Board or commission members with terms set to expire on March 31, 2023, were contacted and asked if they <br />desired reappointment or not. If yes, each member was considered by the City Council as per the attached policy. <br />The City Council was in agreement to re -appoint the following incumbent members to new terms beginning April <br />1, 2023. <br />• Reid Bernard to the Environmental Policy Board for a 4-year full term <br />• Brandon Sis to the Park and Recreation Commission for a 4-year full term <br />• Nathan Barten to the Park and Recreation Commission for a 4-year full term <br />• Eric Peters to the Planning Commission for a 4-year full term <br />The City Council was also in agreement to appoint the following new members to the City's boards and <br />commissions. <br />• Brittany Lindahl to the Economic Development Authority fora 6-year full term <br />• Jessica Vikander to the Environmental Policy Board fora 2-year partial term <br />• Hassan Salami to the Environmental Policy Board fora 1-year partial term <br />•Thomas Hagerty to the Environmental Policy Board fora 1-year partial term <br />• Todd Arts to the Park and Recreation Commission fora 4-year full term (previously on the E.P.B.) <br />• Ryan Heineman to the Planning Commission fora 4-year full term (previously on the E.D.A. and <br />City Council) <br />Funding Source: <br />Funding for the City's boards and commissions is included in the 2023 General Fund Budget; therefore, there are <br />no additional budgetary implications associated with making the recommended appointments. <br />Recommendation: <br />
