<br />290.1 (b) Of the amount appropriated under paragraph (a), $390,000 in fiscal year 2024 and
<br />290.2 $431,000 in fiscal year 2025 are for rulemaking. The base for this appropriation is $0 in
<br />290.3 fiscal year 2026 and thereafter.
<br />290.4 (c) Of the amount appropriated under paragraph (a), $64,000 in fiscal year 2024 is for
<br />290.5 wastewater staff. This is a onetime appropriation.
<br />290.6 (d) Of the amount appropriated under paragraph (a), $64,000 in fiscal year 2024 and
<br />290.E $64,000 in fiscal year 2025 are for small business assistance staff. The base for this
<br />290.8 appropriation is $64,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $0 in fiscal year 2027 and thereafter.
<br />290.9 Subd. 15. Department of Public Safety; Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
<br />290.10 $3,013,000 in fiscal year 2024 and $2,487,000 in fiscal year 2025 are appropriated from
<br />290.11 the general fund to the commissioner of public safety for use by the Bureau of Criminal
<br />290.12 Apprehension. The base for this appropriation is $2,487,000 in fiscal years 2026, 2027, and
<br />290.13 2028. The base in fiscal year 2029 and thereafter is $1,495,000.
<br />290.14 (b) Of the amount appropriated under paragraph (a), $992,000 in fiscal year 2024 and
<br />290.15 $992,000 in fiscal year 2025 are for expenses related to identifying and providing records
<br />290.16 of convictions for certain offenses involving the Dossession of cannabis that may be eligible
<br />290.17 for expungement and resentencing. The base for this appropriation is $992,000 in fiscal
<br />290.18 years 2026, 2027, and 2028. The base in fiscal year 2029 and thereafter is $0.
<br />290.19 (c) Of the amount appropriated under paragraph (a), $1,766,000 in fiscal year 2024 and
<br />290.20 $1,240,000 in fiscal year 2025 are for forensic science services including additional staff,
<br />290.21 equipment, and supplies.
<br />290.22 (d) Of the amount appropriated under paragraph (a), $255,000 in fiscal year 2024 and
<br />290.23 $255,000 in fiscal year 2025 are for investigation of diversion crimes.
<br />290.24 Subd. 16. Department of Public Safety; State Patrol. $3,621,000 in fiscal year 2024
<br />290.25 and $1,443,000 in fiscal year 2025 are appropriated from the trunk highway fund to the
<br />290.26 commissioner of public safety for use by the Minnesota State Patrol for the purposes of this
<br />290.27 act, including identifying and investigating incidents and offenses that involve driving under
<br />290.28 the influence.
<br />290.29 Subd. 17. Department of Revenue. $3,085,000 in fiscal year 2024 and $3,070,500 in
<br />290.30 fiscal vear 2025 are aDDroDriated from the general fund to the commissioner of revenue for
<br />290.31 the purposes of this act. The base for this appropriation is $3,006,750 in fiscal year 2026
<br />290.32 and $3,006,750 in fiscal year 2027.
