Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to recommend <br />approval of preliminary plat for Ramsey Town Center 11th Addition, contingent upon compliance <br />with the City Staff Review Letter. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Van Scoy, Brauer, <br />Levine, Van Scoy, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Shepherd. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson asked if the developer has any concern with the Staff Review Letter other <br />than the items talked about. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharp stated he does not have any concerns. He noted they have made quite a few changes <br />to the site plan since the letter, and he would assume they will draft another letter for the Council <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, second by Commissioner Van Scoy to recommend to the City <br />Council approval of the proposed site plan for Ramsey Professional Center contingent upon <br />compliance with the City Staff review letter dated September 29, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Van Scoy, Brauer, <br />Levine, Van Scoy, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Shepherd. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer commented that they do not want to lose Chairperson Nixt's comments <br />about the FAR requirements. He stated that in this case he believes they can.justify it because of <br />the open space, but he agrees they need to look at it for those coming forward in the future. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon indicated they will try to have something for the <br />Planning Commission to consider in November or December. <br /> <br />Case #7: <br /> <br />Public Hearing - Request for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment; Case of <br />Larry Smith <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Director Tmdgeon stated that the City received an application for a <br />comprehensive plan amendment to change the land use of his property from Places to Work to <br />Places to Shop from Larry Smith. He indicated the property is located in the northeast quadrant <br />of Bunker Lake Boulevard NW and Ramsey Boulevard NW. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Tmdgeon indicated that historically, the property has been <br />zoned for industrial uses. He stated Mr. Smith currently resides on the property and the <br />residential use of the site is considered lawful non-conforming. He indicated the subject property <br />is bounded on the north and east by a single parcel that is zoned E-1 Employment. He stated that <br />this property was recently approved for development with self-service mini-storage units, which <br />has not been initiated. He indicated that the property to the east is zoned R-1 Residential. He <br />stated the property on the west side of Ramsey Boulevard is zoned R-2 Medium Density <br /> <br />Planning Commission/October 6, 2005 <br /> Page 13 of 29 <br /> <br /> <br />
