The current criteria do not adequately reflect the changes that <br />have occurred in the housing market during the past four years. <br />Rising housing costs and the trend toward attached forms of <br />housing brought about by market pressures are not addressed in <br />the current point system. The criteria should reflect more <br />current and accurate housing data now available and that which <br />is anticipated from the 1980 census. <br />The Council held a public meeting to hear reaction to changes in <br />the evaluation criteria in October. Speakers asked if the <br />language in some of the criteria could be clarified or changed. <br />The Council has made an effort to accommodate these concerns in <br />this public hearing draft. <br /> This public hearing document contains the criteria proposed for <br /> Council adoption (Part II) as well as a copy of the current <br /> evaluation criteria (part III) which is pages 117-129 of the <br /> Housing chapter of the Metropolitan Development Guide. <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
