BUDGET <br />Mayor G~mec said that he determined that on a $60,000 valued home, at 20 <br />mills, the taxes would be $553.00 in 1981 and taxes in 1980 were $623.00, <br />therefore, a reduction of $70.00. ~See the graph he provided in the agenda. ) <br />Mayor Gamec said he thinks mileage for councilpersons ought to be paid for <br />going to and from meetings outside the City. <br />Councilman Reimann said City Administrator Scknelle said at the last meet- <br />ing that it costs 40;~ per mile to operate a car and Councilman Reimann be- <br />lieves that this is high as the individual's car is being used for other <br />personal driving. <br /> Councilman Sorteberg said he thinks 40~ per mile is too high also. <br /> Councilman Cox said people shouldn't have to serve at an expense to them, <br /> but that since we have a City car this should be used. <br /> Councilman Reimann said he feels it ought to'be about 20~ per mile. <br /> Councilman Sorteberg said 30~ per mile. Councilman Cox said this would at <br /> least cover the gas and this is as much as should be covered for Council <br /> members. <br /> Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to appropriate <br /> 20~ per mile for Council persons mileage expended on City business. <br /> Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Mickelson, <br /> Reimann and Cox. Voting no None. <br /> Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilmsm Cox to pay 35~ <br /> per mile to staff for mileage when using their own auto on City Business. . <br /> Motion failed. Voting yes Councilman Reimann. Voting no Mayor Gamec, <br /> Councilmen Mdckelson, Sorteberg and Cox. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Cox to pay staff <br /> 40~ per mile for using their own auto on City business. <br /> Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen ~ickelson, Sorteberg and <br /> Cox. Voting no Councilman Reimann. <br /> <br />There was discussion on other budget items. <br />City Administrator Schnelle recommended that none of the increased budget <br />items be acted on until the second half taxes are received from the County <br />in July, 1981. <br />~ayor Gamec said he feels City Hall remodeling is a priority because of <br />potential use"hy various groups. <br />Council~n Cox said that ~t the recent meeting on November 5, 1980, he felt <br />the $60,000 expenditure for City Hall remodeling had been dropped.
