Ao <br /> <br />Ce <br /> <br />Fe <br /> <br />COMMUNITY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT <br />DISTRICT ADVISORY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DECEMBER, 1980 MEETING <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Joan Thuneil, chairperson, at <br />7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Helen Brown, John Sundet, Pat Morreim, Joan Thunell, Jerry <br />Vitzhum, Ernest Larsen, Bob Vlaeck, Mark Lenz (representing John Mann), Jim <br />Peterson, Marilynn Corcoran, and Jim Stewart. Guest: Judy Sutter, Coordinator of <br />Student Services for Anoka-Hennepin School District. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Motion by Ernie Larsen seconded by Jerry Vitzhum <br />to approve the minutes of the October 23 meeting as revised, correcting the spelling <br />of Joanne Poplin and Marilynn Corcoran. Motion carried. <br /> <br />NOMINATION COMMITTEE: Ernie Larsen, Nomination Committee Chairman, placed <br />a nomination. Joan Thunell, Chairperson, John Sundet, Vice Chairperson and Pat <br />Morriem, Secretary. Seconded by Helen Brown. No nominations were received from <br />the floor. Ernie Larsen moved that we unanimously elect this slate of officers. <br />Helen Brown seconded. Motion carried. <br /> <br />MEMBERSHIP POLICY: New members appointed as of January are A1 Soliday, <br />representing Coon Rapids City Council, and Lowell Kutches, representing Crooked <br />Lake Advisory Council and Andover City Council. Motion by Jerry Vitzhum to <br />increase the membership to 18 to include the city of Ham Lake. In addition, the two <br />vacancies presently on the council will be filled by a representative of the Boy Scouts <br />and YMCA. Seconded by Ernie Larson. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY EDUCATION GOALS: Motion by Jerry Vitzhum to accept the goals as <br />revised. Seconded by Marilynn Corcoran. Motion carried. The goals will be <br />presented to the administration and the School Board. <br /> <br />G. POLICY ON COOPERATION COORDINATION: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />policy on Cooperation Coordination as revised. <br />carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Bob Vleek to approve a <br />Seconded by Pat Morreim. Motion <br /> <br />FINANCIAL PLAN: Jim Stewart reviewed the financial plan with the council. <br />Several questions and much discussion occurred on the plan. It was mentioned that <br />this is a rough draft and the plan will be brought back before the council at the <br />January meeting. <br /> <br />DRUG ABUSE/CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY POLICY: Judy Sutter, Coordinator of <br />Student Services for the school district, presented a draft of the Student Chemical <br />Awareness Policy to the Advisory Council for input. Several questions and much <br />discussion took place. <br /> <br />OTHER MATTERS: Joan Thunell read a brief note of appreciation for her attendance <br />at the National Community Education Association Conference in Denver, December 2 <br />through 6. <br /> <br />K.
