JOB DESCRIPTION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />POSITION: Assistant Administrative Planner/Coordinator <br />DEPARTMENT: Technical Services <br /> <br />DATE APPROVED: <br /> <br /> OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE <br /> <br /> This is highly responsible administrative and professional work in planning, <br /> zoning, arranging, and directing the City's planning program. <br /> <br /> Work involves responsibility for the application of specialized knowledges <br /> and administrative skills in the formulation, installation, modification, <br /> and improvement of plans. Works independently with some supervision by <br /> City Administrator. Work includes gathering and evaluating social, economic, <br /> engineering, financial, and related data upon which to premise planning and <br /> zoning recommendations. Work is performed with wide latitude for indepen- <br /> dent judgment and action, and is reviewed by an administrative superior <br /> through conferences and reports. <br /> <br /> RELATIONSHIPS <br /> <br /> Reports to: City Administrator <br /> <br /> Has no regular supervisory duty but does provide work direction to the secretary. <br /> SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />1) Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Planning Department; <br /> supervises and participates in the preparation of comprehensive reports <br /> based upon careful research and study of planning problems; supervises <br /> and directs planning for capital improvement projects. <br /> <br />2) Plans and organizes the compilation, analysis, and interpretation of data <br /> affecting planning and development. <br /> <br />3) Prepares zoning ordinances and zoning maps, and the revision of such <br /> ordinances and maps. <br /> <br />4) Represents the Planning Department at public meetings and at conferences <br /> with other public and private groups. <br /> <br />5) Prepares/assists in the preparation of grants for the City. <br /> <br />6) Coordinates private development with the City service and supervises the <br /> progress of redevelopment projects and public projects. <br /> <br />7) Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time. <br /> <br /> <br />
