Enclosed as Exhibit 91. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec requested Council response for himself and one <br />added councilperson to attend the National League of Cities <br />1981 Congressional-City Conference to be held Saturday, <br />February 28 - Tuesday, March 3, 1981 in Washington, D.C., <br />pursuant to Item 9, League of Minnesota cities letter <br />dated January 13, 1981 in regards to the 1981 Congressional <br />City Conference. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann stated he did not feel this was the year <br />to send delegates to represent the city. He stated this would <br />not accomplish anything this year. <br />Mayor Gamec stated attending the conference would update <br />knowledge regarding grants, budgeting, the bridge crossing, <br />possible sports center and also stated it would be good <br />to be represented and acknowledged.. <br /> Councilman Cox stated he felt the Council should concentrate <br /> on the problems at home and not attend the conference. <br /> Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann <br /> that there be no representation from the City of Ramsey at <br /> the National League of Cities 1981 Congressional-City Conference. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann, Councilman <br />Voting no: Mayor Gamec and <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: <br />Cox and Councilman Sorteberg. <br />Councilwoman Van Wagner. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Van Wagner stated she did not understand why <br />the School Board was communicating with the city regarding <br />salary negotiations, pursuant.to Item 1, Letter dated January 13, <br />1981 from Community School to inform and update on status of <br />salary negotiations. The consensus was this letter is to <br />communicate with the city and simply inform. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Van Wagner referred to Item 6, Metro Council <br />letter dated January 12, 1981 in regards to Waste Management <br />Act provisions of seweage sludge. The Metro Council is now <br /> in the process of finding and selecting suitable land disposal <br /> sites in the Metropolitan Area for sewage sludge and incinerator <br /> ash, grit and screenings. Councilwoman Van Wagner stated <br /> the city falls alot under undesirable according to the Metro <br /> Council guidelines and suggested writing a letter stating <br /> the City of Ramsey does not fall under that category. <br /> Councilman Reimann stated the Metro Council will there will <br /> be a public meeting held regarding this. <br /> Mayor Gamec stated there will be a meeting regarding this <br /> Thursday, January 29, at 7:30 P.M. at the Coon Rapids City <br /> Hall for verbal comments and that any written comments should <br /> <br /> <br />
