COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS_ <br />1) HALLAND ACRES STREET I~PROVEh~~NT PROJECT_ <br />The Mayor announced the City has received no written comments on this <br />proJect. <br />There was discussion amongst the Council on pavinE of the cul de sac on <br />154th Lane. ConsensUS of the Council was that the cul de sac should not <br />be paved but the right-of-way will not be changed. <br /> Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to adopt <br /> Resolution ~80-21, A Resolution Ordering the Project and Preparation of <br /> Plans for street improvements in Hslland Acres. <br /> Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, Sorteberg and <br /> Cox. Voting no None. <br />· 2) UNPIATTED HAGEN'S ADDITION STREET D~PROV~I~ENT PROJECT <br /> There was a general discussion on drainage problems in this area. <br /> Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reims~n to turn down <br /> the project because of (1) the petition against the project, (2) the <br /> majority of people present at the public hearing were opposed to it, <br /> (3) certain drainage problems, (4) the area is in the outer reaches of <br /> the community and (5) because of the large lots involved. <br /> Motion carried. 'Voting .yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, Sorteberg and <br /> Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br /> There was a general discussion on the drainage problems in the area. lL~yor <br /> Gamec read a letter from the Finch's who stated they are in favor of the <br /> project. He also read a letter from the Moseby's, 15321 Hematite, who s~Id <br /> they are in favor of the project. <br /> Council~-n Sorteberg felt there are too mar~ unresolved drainage problems <br /> which should be first addressed. Mayor Gamec said the project should try <br /> and resolve these problems. <br /> Mayor Gamec asked i~ we have to start bringing in Class V could this be <br /> assessed. City A~m~nistrator Schnelle said this money comes from the <br /> general fund. Mayor Gsmec said we could spend $200,000 on just Class V. <br /> Discussion on whether or not good bids can now be obtained because of <br /> higher costs on one hand, but on the other hand ms~Y construction firms <br /> are now looking for work and might be willing to bid relatively low. <br /> Councilman Cox said because of economic situations he is in favor of tabling <br /> action on this project. <br /> <br />C/April 8, 1980 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
