March 6, 1981 <br />7:00 A.M. <br /> <br />Council Personnel Committee met at 7:00 A.M., March 6, 1981, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15i53 Nowthen Blvd N.W., Ramsey,. Minnesota <br />55303. <br /> <br />Present at this meeting: <br /> Councilman Gary Reimann (Council Personnel Committee) <br /> Councilman A1 Sorteberg (Council Personnel Committee) <br />Others in attendance at this meeting: <br /> <br /> Lloyd G. Schnelle (City Employee) <br /> Clayton Berg (City Employee) <br /> <br />It should be noted that all Council members, media, and City Employees <br />were informed of this meeting. A notice was also posted ou the door <br />of City Hall for public notice of the meeting. <br /> <br />Purpose of the meeting was as follows: <br /> a. Discuss with Merle Mevissen about the Council Personnel <br />Com~ittee's discussion on his departments policy regarding coffee and <br />lunch break at their meeting of February i3, 1981. Merle explained <br />that when his men are at the shop working, they will go out for a <br />coffee break sometimes. However, if they are out working in the field, <br />they take their coffee breaks out there. He further stated most times <br />they don't even bother with it. <br /> Personnel Committee requested that a policy drafted in w~itten form on <br /> this issue. They further stated they were very satisfied with Merle's <br /> approach To it in regards to coffee break and lunch breaks. <br /> etti u interview procedurJ for the Assistant Administrative <br /> b. ~ The~Pe~sonnel Co~ittee discussed the following with the <br /> Assistant. <br /> City Administrator: <br /> 1. Interviewing Committee- The City Administrator stated that <br /> he thought the Personnel Committee should have each of the City's Com- <br /> mission Chairmans on it. He also stated the City's Department heads <br /> should sit in on the interviewing of applicants. He stated that he had <br /> done this in~previ°us communities and it really worked extremely well <br /> for many reasons. Consequently, he asked if they were interested in this <br /> procedure and if they were it should go to Council for their approval <br /> <br />p/ March 6, 1981 <br /> <br /> <br />
