Building Official Clayton Berg also stated Sunfish Lake Drive is
not a public street and has never been dedicated to the city.
The ordinance states it is not admissible to build on a private
street. Mr. Thorne stated he expects should the property
surrounding his be subdivided, a public road should run to
his property. Also he feels the large park dedication fee
is not justified. The commission discussed this and agreed.
Motion by Benjamin Deemer and seconded by Ronald West to
recommend to the City Council an agreement between Mr. Thorne,
Mr. Schaumberg, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the
City Council stating the fact that this is not a buildable
site until further subdivision or building permits are issued
for building proposed. It was recommended that the City Council
grant a variance to allow a subdivision by metes and bounds
for the subject property and said variance to be for the park
dedication fee on that subdivision until it is either subdivided
or built upon.
Discussion: It was suggested by Arthur Dunn to state in the
minutes there should be a historical notation regarding this
subdivision. Mr. Schaumberg tried %o do this years ago but
the City and Mr. Schaumberg did not complete the steps necessary
to get it subdivided.
Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Kenneth peterson, Ronald
West, Arthur Dunn, Benjamin Deemer, Kathy Schneider and Harry
Ellis. Voting no: None.
CASE ~2: ANOKA cOMPREHENSIVE PLAN DISCUSSION
Ronald West and Harry Ellis stated they have not yet seen the
comprehensive plan. Chairperson Kenneth Peterson stated there
should be an agreement between the surrounding kommuntties
regarding further development-
Commission Action: Direct a letter and have it sent to the
Council of Anoka requesting that if any land be developed
along Ramsey's borders that the City of Ramsey be notified.
Ronald West mentioned a proposed second sewer line, secondar~
to the CAB interceptor already proposed. This llne would go
through Dunham Addition to the Ramsey border. Benjamin Deemer
stated an addition to the letter should include regarding the
Thurston Avenue path of travel for this sewer line, that it
line up with something proposed in the City of Ramsey.
Case ~3: Reappointmen~ of Kenneth Peterson and Gerald
zimmerman to the Plannin~nd Zonin_~--~--~ssi°n
Motion by Ronald West and seconded by Arthur Dunn to recommend
to the City Council the re-appointment of Kenneth Peterson and
Gerald'Zimmerman to the Planning and Zoning Commission-
Note: The length and conditions of the term of office should
be included in this recommendation-
p&z/February 3, 1981
Page 3
