Councilmember Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #81- 6 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE CITY OF RA~SEY BE FURNISHED ITS OWN 5{AIL <br />ZIP CODE <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey was incorporated from a township to <br />City status in October, 1974 and as a township it came under the jurisdiction <br />of the City of Anoka, Anoka County, State of Udnnesota post office for mail <br />service; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey, knoka County, State of U_innesota, <br />is a rapidly growing suburb of over lO,000 plus population based on the <br />1980 Federal Census. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLYED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF RM~{SEY, ANOKA <br /> COUNTY, STATE OF ~INNESOTA, as follows: <br /> l) The City Council hereby requests that the City of R~msey be <br /> furnished its own mail zip code. <br /> 2) It is therefore, directed that this resolution be mailed to <br /> the following public officials for action: <br /> <br /> Postmaster General <br /> Representative Oberstar <br /> Senator Rudy Boshwitz <br /> Senator David Durenberger <br /> <br /> 3) It is further requested that the above named public officials <br /> keep the City of Ramsey informed on this request for a mail zip code. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br /> Councilmember Van Wagner and upon vote being taken thereon, the following <br /> voted in favor thereof: <br /> Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Van Wagner, Re~nn and <br /> Cox <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 10th day of~L%rch, 1981. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />
