"This free,
unique opportunity provides high school students and young adults virtual immersive job
experiences with a variety of career choices."
When not in the trailer, attendees can visit with local employers and organizations to learn
more about career options, including current job openings. Many exhibitors will have hands-on
experiential activities.
"Hiring events like this one, sponsored by the Anoka County Job Training Center and
Anoka Technical College, offer opportunities to connect with employers and learn about jobs in a
way that just isn't available when you're searching and applying for jobs online," said
District 4 Anoka County Commissioner Scott Schulte, who serves on the county's Workforce
Development Board and is president of the Minnesota Association of Workforce Boards. "Meeting
employers in person, seeing demonstrations and being able to ask questions is a definite advantage
when it comes to landing a job."
Due to high demand, the 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. timeframe is being reserved for school groups
-more-
Respectful, Innovative, Fiscally Responsible
Government Center A 2100 3rd Avenue, Suite 700 A Anoka, MN 55303-5024 A www.anokacounty.us
Office: 763-324-4700 A Fax: 763-324-5490
Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
