RAMSEY TOWN CENTER CITY COUNCIL SUBCOMMITTEE WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey Town Center City Council Subcommittee conducted a Work Session on Tuesday, <br />July 22, 2008, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig (arrived at 5:18 p.m.) <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Amber Miller <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sean Sullivan <br />Jim Lasher, President of LSA Design <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The Ramsey Town Center City Council Subcommittee Work Session began at 5:01 p.m. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />1) Review Options for Ramsey Town Center Development <br />City Administrator Ulrich reviewed the basic information from the proposals included in the <br />packet and noted that the Tinklenberg project is already moving forward to promote the commuter <br />rail transit facility. He stated that the Buxton proposal was recently approved by the EDA and is <br />moving forward. He stated that the Buxton project will provide detailed data on customers in the <br />City's trade area. He stated that the EDA is trying to get partners to work with the City on this <br />project. He stated that of the remaining four proposals, he invited Jim Lasher of LSA Design to <br />attend today's meeting because his proposal was the most comprehensive. <br />Councilmember Strommen clarified that the only proposals that are on the table for discussion <br />were the first four in the packet and the other two were already engaged and moving forward. She <br />noted however, the four proposals were not a comparison of "apples to apples". <br />Community Development Director Miller agreed that the proposals came back different, although <br />all of the consultants were given the same initial information. <br />Ramsey Town Center City Council Subcommittee Work Session / July 22, 2008 <br />Page 1 of 10 <br />
