Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to recommend that the City <br />Council adopt a resolution appointing Wayne Skaff to a term on the EDA expiring 2011 and <br />appointing Bryan Rogers to a term on the Planning Commission expiring 2010. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Mayor Gamec and Councilmember Dehen. <br />Voting No: None. <br />Case #2: Consider Ending the Probationary Period for a Paid -on -Call Firefighter <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone stated that Chad Hayft was hired on December 13, 2006 <br />as a Paid -on -Call Firefighter and he has completed the required one year probationary period. <br />Fire Chief Kapler added that Mr. Hayft is doing a good job for the Fire Department. <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to recommend that the City <br />Council that the City Council remove Chad Hayft from probation and retain him as a Paid -on - <br />Call Firefighter, effective April 22, 2008. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Mayor Gamec, and Councilmember Dehen. <br />Voting No: None. <br />Case #3: Discussion Regarding Stipends for Board and Commission Members <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone stated that in response to direction from the Personnel <br />Committee, she conducted a survey of metro -area cities and approximately 1/3 of the 34 <br />respondents pay a stipend to board and/or commission members. Council Member Jeffrey stated <br />that he would like this item forwarded to a budget work session for discussion. He further stated <br />that he would like to review the payments to Council Members in the context of the same <br />discussion. <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to forward this item to a future <br />budget work session for discussion. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Mayor Gamec, and Councilmember Dehen. <br />Case #4: Discussion Regarding the Terms of City Council Members who are <br />Appointed to the EDA <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone reported that the City Attorney had researched this issue <br />and determined that Council Members who are appointed to the EDA serve in that capacity until <br />they Council Member ends their relationship with the City Council. Council Member Dehen <br />stated that this answered his question.
