Subject: Safe exit out of Riverwood Hills South

At the present, we have a serious traffic problem at the intersection of 177 Ave NW and
Erkium. By adding more traffic coming from the South on Erkium, the problem will
~eatly increase and will not be able to be corrected. Riverwood Hills Platt 1 is river
bottom land, and the only road out goes up a steep hill with a sharp curve half way up.
When this was developed, a house should not have been put at 17700 Colbalt, so this hill
would not have a sharp curve halfway up. During the winter, when the hill is slippery,
you can't stop on the hill or you can't get started again and you will block traffic going in
or out. By adding any more traffic coming from the South on Erkium, traffic will get
stalled on the hill during slippery conditions and lock up this neighborhood of 24 homes.
Any fire, medical, or police vehicles could not respond.
In past snow storms, this neighhood has been isolated, because we can't get up tiffs hill
unfill it has been plowed out later in the day.
Even now when you exit and make the curve at 177 Ave NW and Erkium, some cars
coming from the south on Erldum will not stop and cut you off. It's not the two residence
from the south, but service or other vehicles. Traffic accidents are inevitable, if more
traffic comes from the south on Erkium.
If five or whatever number of home are added to this 40 acres, the exit from this project
should be to Fluorine St or another road to the west to insure a safe exit for Riverwood
Hills Plat 1. You have only 11 homes that exit on Fluorine St, while at the present 34
homes exit on Erkium St. Erkium St should deadend as it connects with 177 Ave.

-262-
