P&Z Commissioner Zimmerman pointed out property owner A1 Sorteberg,
as an example, and stated that Mr. Sorteberg owned 80 acres and
planned it for subdivision into 2~ acre lots; Metro Council changed
the density to 1 in 10 acres and Mr. Sorteberg is only allowed 8
lots in that 80 acres.
Commissioner Sieber stated that in the past he has always heard
from the City that promises have to be kept and he wants to be sure
no promises will be broken in this case.
Mr. Otto stated that zoning for the airport will present problems;
it will eliminate the possibility of subdivision.
Commissioner Sieber pointed out that some people purposely built
on ½ of their lots only in order to be able to sell half their
lot in order to pay for sewer and water, should it become necessary.
Eliminating subdivision in this zoning restricted area could be
a financial devastation to some people.
Mr. Otto pointed out that the City will not be able to obtain State
and Federal funds for that type of compensation.
Commission consensus is that the City should consider modifying
the municipal utility assessment ordinance to address those
certain properties that would be restricted from subdivision
because of the airport.

ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Commissioner Sieber and seconded by Commissioner
Greenberg to adjourn this regular meeting of the Ramsey Airport
Commission.
Motion carried.
