Councilmember McGlone inquired how many firefighters there are now and how many is a full <br />complement. <br />Fire Chief Kapler responded there are 20 firefighters at each of the two Ramsey stations, and 15 <br />at Nowthen, for a total of 55. Adding two to Ramsey and four to Nowthen will make a full <br />complement. He added the target right now is to hire with daytime availability. <br />Councilmember McGlone asked if 10 of the daytime firefighters work for Public Works, would <br />they be available for on call firefighting. <br />Fire Chief Kapler replied he would discuss this with the Public Works Director if this situation <br />arose. <br />Motion by Chairperson Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Tossey, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the resolution to allow staff to begin firefighter recruitment. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey, Councilmembers Tossey and McGlone. <br />Voting No: None. <br />Case #2: Consider a Resolution Ending the Probation of Paid -on -call Firefighters <br />Human Resources Representative Colleen Lasher reviewed the staff report. <br />Motion by Councilmember Tossey, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to recommend that <br />the City Council approve the resolution, which confirms the recommendation of the Personnel <br />Committee to remove Cory Helgoe, Steve Lundeen, and Paul Reighard from probation and retain <br />them as a paid on -call Fire Fighters. <br />Motion carried.
