4.02: Consider a Resolution Ending the Probation of Paid -On -Call Firefighters <br />Human Resources Representative Lasher reviewed the staff report. <br />Councilmember McGlone asked where the two firefighters will be stationed. <br />Fire Chief Kapler responded that Timothy Flickinger will be at Station #1 and Jackie Edwards <br />will be at Station #3. He advised that both firefighters have done very well during probation and <br />recommended both be taken off probation. <br />Mayor Ramsey asked how many female fire fighters Ramsey has. <br />Fire Chief Kapler advised there are two female fire fighters including Ms. Edwards. If <br />recommended for approval, it will be considered by the City Council on September 11, 2012, <br />and the badge ceremony will occur the same night. <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Mayor Ramsey, to recommend that the City <br />Council approve a Resolution confirming the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to <br />remove Jackie Edwards and Timothy Flickinger from probation and retain them as paid on -call <br />firefighters. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Tossey, Councilmember McGlone, and Mayor Ryan. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Strommen. <br />4.03: Consider a Resolution to Enter into a Memorandum of Understanding <br />(MOU) with AFSCME <br />Human Resources Representative Lasher reviewed the staff report. <br />Councilmember Strommen arrived at 5:38 p.m. <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to recommend that the City <br />Council approve a Resolution confirming the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to <br />authorize the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in order to meet the coverage requirements <br />and other responsibilities associated with the care and oversight of the Municipal Center until the <br />full-time Building Maintenance Worker returns from his medical leave. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Tossey, Mayor Ramsey, and Councilmember <br />McGlone. Voting No: None. Abstain: Councilmember Strommen. <br />5. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to close the regular meeting <br />of the Personnel Committee. <br />Motion carried. <br />Personnel Committee / August 28, 2012 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
