PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Chairperson Jason Tossey <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen (arrived 5:01 p.m.) <br />Also Present: Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Tossey called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />3. APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Chairperson Tossey to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Tossey, Councilmember McGlone. Absent <br />Councilmember Strommen. Voting No: None. <br />4. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />4.01: Consider a Resolution to Accept a Paid -on -Call Firefighter's Resignation and to <br />Hire a Paid -on -Call Firefighter <br />Councilmember Strommen arrived. <br />Human Resources Manager Lasher reported that on October 3, 2012, staff received a letter of <br />resignation from Paid -on -call Firefighter Mr. Tim Bergersen, who served out of Fire Station #2. <br />As part of the recent authorization to recruit for firefighters, staff identified a candidate to serve <br />out of Station #2, Mr. Jeff Kagol. Mr. Kagol successfully interviewed and passed the City's <br />background check, physical agility test, work -style assessment, and pre -employment <br />examination. If approved, Mr. Kagol would be subject to a one-year probationary period and the <br />terms of the Personnel Policy.
