Councilmember Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #81-35 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING STATE REPRESENTATIVE JOHN CLAWSON ACTION ON HOUSE <br />FILE 1285 WITH~ND~ENT REGARDING STATE LOCAL AID TO CITIES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey City Council reviewed the City's proposed <br />legislative bill House File with amendment regarding State Local 3hid <br />to Cities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Rsmsey City Council question why State Representative <br />John Clawson, who sponsored House File 1285 with amendment didn't have <br />a public hearing on said bill which is an extremely vital piece of' <br />legislation to the City of Ramsey and the City of Lake Crystal; snd <br /> <br /> %~HEREAS, Ramsey City Officials in response to the Ramsey <br />City Council question why House File 1285 with amendment did not get a <br />public hearing. The City Officials stated that our State Representative <br />~r%. John Clawson just simply deserted the City at a most crucial time <br />when the bill was to go to public hearing as Mr. Clawson just didn't <br />take the bill in for 'public hearing. The Ramsey Officials further <br />stated that our Representative John Clawson put the City of Ramsey in <br />a most embarrassing position with other cities who were working with <br />us on this legislation as they could have gotten their legislature to <br />process it. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF HALSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) The R~ey City. Council hereby requests that State <br />Representative John Clawson attend the Ramsey City Council meeting of <br />May 26, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen <br />Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Udnnesota to explain his.action in not following <br />through on House File 1285 with amendment to public hearing inasmuch as <br />he was sponsortng the bill which was extremely important to the City of <br />R,m~ey. <br /> <br /> 2) It is further requested that if State RePresentative <br />John Clawson cannot attend the above meeting that he inform the City of <br />P~sey which of the follow~ meeting dates he can attend within ten <br />(~0) days of this resolution: <br /> <br />May 26, 1981, 7:30 P.M. <br />June 9, 1981, 7:3OP.M, <br /> <br /> 3) It is further directed that this resolution be mailed <br />by registered mail. <br /> <br /> <br />
