TO: City Administrator

FROM: Bmilding Official

RE: Inspection Fee - Moved in Structures

DATE: June 2, 19gl

This morning, at the Personnel Committee meetinE, Conncilmember Reimaon
questioned the City's policy on moved in residential garages. I informed
him that this was the same as for any other moved in structure with a
$100.00 inspection fee and Council approval. His feeling is that the
$100.00 fee is not really fair for garages that in all likelihood would
end up being storage sheds. I concurred and he asked that I prepare a
policy change on th_is matter.

Therefore, it would be mY recommendation that the $100.OO fee be waived
for accessory buildings less than 580 square feet in size contingent
upon the applicants providing a clear photograph of all four sides of
the structure to be moved. A building permit and City Council approval
would still be required.

All other structures would still have to be inspected prior to being
moyed at a fee of $100.00.

Mayor Gamec has also questioned this in the past and we should place it
on the next Council agenda for adoption as a resolution.
