Public Works Director Kapler indicated there are two other suspected businesses in town that <br />may have the same meter problem as Comfort Suites. Ramsey Elementary School has not been <br />contacted yet. A meter change out has been scheduled for Cormexus Energy within the next two <br />weeks. <br /> <br />2006 Public Works Goals <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler indicated the Committee reviewed the 2006 Public Works Goals. <br />The final draft of these goals was reviewed by the full Council at the work session tonight. <br /> <br />Ramsey Athletic Association <br /> <br />Councilmamber Elvig stated the Committee discussed the merging of RYAA with the Anoka <br />Athletic Association. There was discussion about a possible move towards a Park and <br />Recreation Department. This would include elderly residents, different sporting activities, etc. It <br />would not necessarily relate only to traditional sports activities. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commented the Park Commission had a lengthy discussion about the future for a <br />Park and Recreation Department. He suggested the Park Commission provide input on this <br />issue. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook noted the organizational study that is in process will show what direction <br />the City needs to move for the residents, and one of these areas will likely be Parks and <br />Recreation. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced the Loudi delegation will be arriving on February 22nd, and events will <br />be scheduled throughout the day. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to authorize staffto expend up to <br />$2,000 from the Council Contingency Fund towards the reception for the Loudi, China <br />delegation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Elvig, Jeffi'ey, Olson, and <br />Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Strommen. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec requested Councilmembers to inform him if they will be attending the Taste of <br />Blaine on February 23~d. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman announced a special Council meeting will be scheduled for Tuesday, <br />February 21st at 7:00 p.m., following the Public Works Committee meeting.
