Federal participation is 90% and on a State/municipal basis, it would be <br />2/3's State and 1/3 municipality. <br /> <br />~airman Ippel then read to the Cu~,.isaion a letter from Larry ](oshak <br />dated October 16, 1984 regarding the Airport Master Plan and that it is <br />planned that docu-,entation will be submitted to Metro Council, State and <br />Federal agencies on approximately November 6, 1984 and that the final <br />public hearing could be in late January or early February of 1985. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued as to the possibility of conducting a final public <br />hearing jointly with Council. <br /> <br />(~airman Ippel suggested that the C~ission, in the near future, contact <br />cu~,i,unities with airports (like Air Lake in Lakeville) and research the <br />ways in which their cu,,.unity benefitted from the airport. <br /> <br />C~,~,issioner Sieber stated that the City spent money to see h~ much an <br />improved municipal airport is going to cost; there ought to be a study <br />done on where the revenues will come from to pay for the project. <br /> <br />Cu~,~,isaioner Siebert stated that citizens have suggested that the <br />Cu~,~dssion study other cu~,~unities hosting airports and Air Lake would be <br />a good place to start. <br /> <br />C~,~,issioner Sieber stated that when the final doc~ent is complete, he <br />wants to see as much doc~entation on raising revenue as spending revenue. <br /> <br />Bruce ~(~mpson stated that land in the vicinity of the airport is for sale <br />and inquired if a moratori~ has been placed co the land. <br /> <br />(~hairman Ippel stated that the o~ners of airport property have declined <br />offers to sell so as not to kill the potential for an airport; the <br />moratori~ is self-imposed by the landowners. <br /> <br />3) 'Meet ~e Candidate': <br /> <br />(~airman Ippel stated that Councilm~r Jean Schlueter contacted him <br />regarding the 'Meet ~e Candidate' meeting sponsored by the League of <br />Wcmen Voters; what they are looking for is key issues that the various <br />Co~,~issions would like the candidates to address. <br /> <br />C~uissic~er Siebert suggested that the candidates address their long <br />range goals and ebjectives for the City of Ramsey -- is it to develop or <br />is it to resain a bedroom c~,,.unity. <br /> <br />4) November Meeting of Airport C~,,ission: <br /> <br />Coesensus was that the Cu~,,issi~ will meet on Tuesday, November 20, 1984 <br />rather than on Wednesday, November 21 and that City Staff notify Ron <br />Erickson, Steve Lateen and Don Stauffer of any Airport Cu,,~,ission business <br />and meetings just as though they were all me~bers of the <br /> <br />Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
