CASE #1 <br /> <br />REVIEW FIVE YEAR CIP FOR PARKS <br /> By: Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City has established a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) that looks at proposed <br />expenditures for future improvements. The projects to be undertaken in the next 5 years <br />are reviewed annually and the list is updated. The current C[P for parks is attached for <br />your information. <br /> <br />Items of note on the list are the following projects that are nearing completion or are <br />anticipated to be complete before the end of the 2006 construction season: <br /> <br />Project # <br />04-Park-012 <br />06-Park-001 <br />06-Park-002 <br />06-Park-004 <br /> <br />06-Park-018 <br /> <br />Nanle <br />Titterud Park Play Equipment <br />Elmcrest Park Phase III <br />Drinking Fountains <br />Hexagonal Shelters in Various Parks <br />TH 47 Trail from Alpine Drive to Elmcrest Park <br />Erosion Repair in Rivers Bend Park <br /> <br />The RFP has been received for the Tittered Park Play Equipment and is included in a <br />separate case tonight. The Elmcrest Park Phase III improvements for 2006 are also in a <br />separate case tonight. Drinking fountains and Hexagonal Shelters are being added to <br />parks at the rate of 1 - 2 per year. Segments of the TH47 trail were constructed by <br />developers. The remaining easements have.been acquired and the paving will be <br />included in the 2006 Street Overlay bids. <br /> <br />Projects proposed for 2007 include: <br />Roller Sports Facility at Central Park <br />Additional Improvements at Elmcrest Park <br />Drinking Fountains <br />A Concrete Restroom Facility <br />Hexagonal Shelters <br />Water and Sewer for Elmcrest Park (will likely move to '08 or later) <br />Replacement of Walks at Fox Park Deck <br /> <br />Several of the projects for 2008 - 2010 are very large and will require additional funding <br />mechanisms besides the Park Dedication Fund. A long range item that is not on the list is <br />preservation of land north of Trott Brook for a community park. The City Council is in <br />the process of adopting a 1 year moratorium on cluster developments to allow time for <br />Council and staff review of the process including reserving open space in cluster <br />developments. The future community park location may be reviewed as part of the <br /> <br /> <br />
