ORDINANCE # 06- CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA Introduction of an Ordinance Amending Section 3.20, Personnel Policy and Section 3.14, Police Department An ordinance amending Section 3.20 of the City Code titled "Personnel Policy" and Section 3.14 titled "Police Department". SECTION 1. Amend Section 3.20, personnel Policy and Section 3.14, Police Department Section 3.20, Personnel Policy, is amended by repealing the language in Sections 3.20.01 through 3.20.24. The repealed language is replaced with language referencing the City of Ramsey Personnel Policy, which was adopted by resolution and which will be amended by resolution in the future. Section 3.20.24, Criminal History Background Investigations is repealed from Section 3.20, Personnel Policy, and added to Section 3.14, Police Department. Section 3.14, Police Department, is amended to include language authorizing the Police Department to conduct pre-employment criminal background investigations. Section 3.20 Personnel Policy and Section 3.14 Police Department Section 3.20 Personnel Policy is hereby repealed and replaced with the following language: The City of Ramsey's Personnel Policy was adopted by resolution on April 1 I, 2006 and will be amended by resolution. Section 3.14 Police Department is hereby amended to include the following language from Section 3.20, Personnel Policy: Section 3.14.04 Criminal History Background Investigations Subdivision 1. Authority Minnesota Statute, Section 13.87 authorizes city police departments to conduct criminal history background investigations on applicants for City positions using Minnesota Computerized Criminal History data.
