Finally the committee recommended that the redevelopment of Now and Then <br />Estates be reconsidered in August 2006. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #3 Consider Authorizing 157th Lane Sewer and Water Feasibility Study <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On February 14, 2006 a petition signed by~15 of the 17 properties fronting along 157th Lane east <br />of Ramsey Boulevard was presented to the City Council. The petition requested that a feasibility <br />study be prepared which would address the costs associated with the extension of municipal <br />sewer and water facilities along the full length of this segment of street. The petition further <br />requested a delay in the bituminous overlay which is being proposed for this segment of street <br />this summer as a portion of Improvement Project 06-10. The petition was certified as having the <br />required number of signatures for a valid petition. <br /> <br />Staff has obtained a proposal from the engineering firm of Bolton & Menk Inc. for the <br />preparation of a feasibility study for a not-to-exceed fee of $3,500. The actual amount would be <br />based upon the actual time spent billed at this finn's normal hourly rates. In addition to sanitary <br />sewer and water staff would anticipate the scope of improvements would include the normal <br />contingent associated with sewer and water areas including concrete curb and gutter, storm <br />sewer, street lights and sidewalk. If any of these improvements are not to be considered such <br />direction should be provided by the Committee. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council direct staff to proceed with the proposal from Bolton <br />& Menk for the preparation of a feasibility study for providing municipal services to 157th Lane <br />in an amount not-to-exceed $3,500, that the City pick up that cost through the enterprise funds if <br />the project is demed, and that the overlay scheduled for 157 Lane be tabled until next year w~th <br />no adverse consequences to the residents. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #4 Consider Modification to the Municipal State Aid System <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />This case is a continuation of the discussion initiated at the February 21, 2006 Committee <br />meeting relative to the designation of additional mileage the City's Municipal State Aid system <br />(MSA).
