The petition requested
that a feasibility study be prepared which would address the costs associated with the
extension of municipal sewer and water facilities along the full length of this segment of
street. A copy of this petition is attached. The petition was certified as having the required
number of signatures for a valid petition.

Staffhas obtained a proposal from the engineering firm ofBolton & Menk Inc. the
preparation of a feasibility study for a not-to-exceed fee of $3,500. In
addition to sanitary sewer and water staff would anticipate the scope of improvements
would include the normal contingent associated with sewer and water areas including
concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, street lights and sidewalk. If any of these
improvements are not to be considered such direction should be provided at this time.

Staffhas notified the residents of 157th Lane of this issue being considered by the
Committee.

Recommendation:

Staff recommends that the proposal from Bolton & Menk for the preparation of this
feasibility study in an amount not-to-exceed $3,500 be recommended for approval to the
City Council.

Action:

Motion to recommend to City Council that the proposal from Bolton & Menk for the
preparation of feasibility study fo.r providing municipal services to 157th Lane in an
amount not-to-exceed $3,500 be accepted.

Reviewed By:
Public Works Superintendent/Fire Chief
Public Works Director/Principal Engineer
Finance Officer

PW: 03/21/06

-305-
