CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 05/23/2023 <br />By: Katie Schmidt, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />7.8. <br />Title: <br />Adopt Ordinance #23-06 Amending Chapter 2, Article V Boards, Commissions and Authorities of the City Code <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The City Council recently adopted Charter recommended ordinance #23-04 which updated our City Charter <br />prohibiting membership on city boards and commissions of non -city of Ramsey residents (attached for reference). <br />Ordinance #23-06 is being presented to update our city code to match the recent City Charter update. <br />Procedurally, a Charter update receives approval prior to a corresponding city code update. The Charter change is <br />effective on June 29, 2023. Upon adoption and publication of Ordinance #23-06, the city code update would be <br />effective on July 3, 2023. Given the City Charter language, this ordinance is not discretionary. <br />The ordinance proposing the amendment is subject to the same publication requirements as other ordinances.
