CC Special Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 06/06/2023 <br />Title: <br />Annual Strategic Planning Session <br />Purpose/Background: <br />2.1. <br />This will be the second session held to review and update the Strategic Plan for 2023. The first session was held <br />on April 24, 2023, at that meeting the group focused on the Objectives and Strategies. There was a portion of the <br />evening spent on the subsequent Action Items, however, time did not allow for a full review. Council directed <br />staff to update the plan based on what was discussed, and to identify necessary updates and provide ideas for <br />additional Action Items. A draft updated Strategic Plan is attached for review. Additionally, a one -page <br />summary document has been created in order to better share with the public what the high level items of the plan <br />include. This summary document focuses on the Values, Vision, Mission, Objectives and Strategies established <br />within the plan. <br />Lastly, attached is also the progress status of the 2022 Action Plan. Completed items are highlighted in green and <br />items where progress has been made are highlighted in yellow. Some of the below items were discussed at <br />the first session, and were implemented. Throughout the evening, these and other items will be considered for <br />implementation into the 2023 Strategic Plan. <br />• Reward one item as the best process, idea or personnel cost saving that occurred in the prior year. <br />Communicate these accomplishments to the public. <br />• Bring Waterfowl for Warriors to Ramsey. Currently, this is a program that is active in a neighboring <br />community. <br />. Fire Hydrant and Storm Drain Sponsors <br />. Utilize neighboring city's events to promote local businesses. I.e. Sidewalk sales for businesses along Hwy <br />47 during Anoka River Fest <br />• Implement QR Codes in printed materials and for development information. I.e. City of Monticello utilizes <br />sidewalk stickers with QR Codes directed towards development webpages. <br />. Review efficiency/effectiveness of advisory boards &committees <br />.Implement Policy striving for less regulation of residents <br />. Analyze operations and develop plan strategy to eliminate inefficiencies and streamline the organization <br />. Implement a beginning percentage increase to the general fund levy increase (excludes pavement <br />management, EDA, debt service) <br />
