Craig Swalchick
From: Craig Swalchick
Sent: Thursday, June 1, 2023 9:50 AM
To: Todd Larson
Subject: FW: Public Hearing for Dog Kennel license
From: BILL & AMAN DA WHITE >
Sent: Thursday, June 1, 2023 9:46 AM
To: Craig Swalchick <cswalchick@ci.ramsey.mn.us>
Subject: Public Hearing for Dog Kennel license
Craig,
My name is Bill White. I live at 7231 151 St Lane NW Ramsey. I am writing this in response to the
notice we received about our neighbor asking for a Kennel License for the 6 dogs they currently
have.
I will not to be able to attend this meeting as I will be out out of the country that week. I decided to
send this letter for comments on the subject.
personally have no issues with people having multiple dogs. I do how ever have issues with not
controlling your dogs. Care for and keeping your dogs safe is a big issue with me.
If you check the police records I have made three complaints involved with this neighbors 6 dogs.
Once for excessive barking during a time they use to leave all 6 dogs out at once. This barking was
more than dog barking it was aggressively trying to get at me and my dog.
Once because their white dog with a curly tail came into my yard and tried attacking my elderly dog.
After making sure my dog was safe, I went to speak with the neighbor about the dog in my yard. The
owner never came to the door, just came out and got the dog out of my yard when he heard me
yelling.
Then this past Monday the dogs tried coming through a broken part of the privacy fence they have
that is falling apart. The past neighbor put up a privacy fence within a foot of my chain link fence, so
the dog was between fences trying to get into my yard again. I have pictures of this last incident.
You should know that during the time they knew they could not have more than 3 dogs they were only
letting 3 out at a time. If they have a 6 dog license, will they be able to control all the dogs at once?
They are a pack at that point and go after any dog that is out near them.
Please understand I am not the kind of neighbor who is complaining just because. I have spoken to
the owners several times. I have offered to help with making the fence better as in buying materials
and they install it kind of thing. I have been patient up until now. I am willing to work with them but
they do not come to apologize or talk about this situation.
