Councilmember <br />RESOLUTION <br />IMPROVEMENT <br />SERVICES <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #23-122 <br />ACCENTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />PROJECT #23-16, 2023 PAVEMENT PATCHING CONTRACTED <br />WHEREAS, numerous streets in the City of Ramsey are experiencing severe pavement <br />distress resulting in unsafe conditions for drivers; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2023 including $375,000 to <br />temporarily repair the bituminous pavement on numerous public street segments in support of <br />the City's Pavement Management Program, with another $375,000 reserved for temporary <br />pavement repairs in 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23 -100 adopted May 9, 2023, a <br />construction contract was awarded for Improvement Project #23 -15, 2023 Priority Pothole <br />Patching Contracted Services to immediately patch the highest priority potholes on streets <br />experiencing severe pavement distress; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23-115 adopted May 23, <br />2023, a construction contract was awarded for Improvement Proj ect #23 -14, 2023 Critical Mill <br />and Overlay Improvements, to temporarily repair pavement in 21 of the most critical areas <br />experiencing severe pavement distress; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23-101, adopted May 9, <br />2023, the City Council approved plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bids <br />for Improvement Project #23-16, 2023 Pavement Patching Contracted Services, which proposes <br />to utilize contracted services to patch pavement on streets experiencing severe pavement distress <br />that are not addressed under Improvement Projects #23-14 or #23-15; and <br />WHEREAS, a total of two (2) bids were received, opened, and tabulated on June 8, 2023, <br />and the following one (1) bid was found to comply with the approved plans and specifications <br />and advertisement for bids; and <br />Company <br />Bid <br />Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. <br />$2,41800.00 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, in the <br />amount of $2,418,600.00 for the total bid for construction of the improvements in accordance <br />with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible <br />bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br />
