Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #06-02-069 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 03-20 NW SANITARY SEWER AND WATERMAIN EXTENSION WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project #03-20, NW Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Extension, bids were received and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the bids that were received: Bidder LaTour Construction Arcon Construction Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. Northdale Construction Amount of Bid $6,693,820.17 $7,515,697.97 $7,761,879.18 $10,715,102.37 AND WHEREAS, it appears that LaTour Construction is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with LaTour Construction in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement Project #03-20 in the amount of $6,693,820.17. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
