Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION//06-02-070 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #05-27, <br /> WELCOME'S ROAD STREET GRADING AND PAVING IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on January 24, 2006, City Council adopted Resolution//06-01-032 <br />accepting plans and specifications and authorizing the solicitation of bids; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project//05-27, <br />bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the five quotes that were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br />Universal Enterprises of Mid-MN Inc. <br />Hardrives <br />North Valley Inc. <br />W.B. Miller <br />Northwest Asphalt, Inc. <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br />$192,947.82 <br />$197,352.11 <br />$200,761.00 <br />$211,229.20 <br />$224,816.70 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, whereas the low bid exceeds the estimated project cost by more than <br /> 10%; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City code section 4.60.05 Subd. 3 states that no contract shall be let in the <br /> event the lowest responsible bid exceeds 10% of thc estimated cost. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to reject all <br /> bids submitted. <br /> <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br /> the deposits made with their bids. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />OIson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Game¢ <br /> Councilmember Cook <br /> Councilmember Olson <br /> Councilmember Elvig <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-02-070 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
