Case #17: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Consider Ending Probationary Period for the Parks Lead Person <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated on September 14, 2005, Michael Berge was promoted to Parks <br />Lead Person. Mr. Berge has successfully completed his six-month probationary period as the <br />Parks Lead Person and the Public Works Director recommends Mr. Berge as the City's Parks <br />Lead Person.. It was the recommendation of the Personnel Committee that Mr. Berge's <br />probationary period be ended. <br /> <br />2) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Community Development Director <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated Patrick Tmdgeon has successfully completed his one-year <br />probationary period as Community Development Director. The City Administrator recommends <br />retaining Mr. Trudgeon as the full-time regular Community Development Director. It was the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee that Mr. Trudgeon's probationary period be ended <br />and that he be retained as the full-time regular Community Development Director. <br /> <br />3) Consider Appointments to the Planning Commission <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated interviews were conducted with five individuals on March 15, <br />2006, for the vacancies on the Planning Commission. The recommendation of the Personnel <br />Committee is to appoint Ralph Hunt and Jessica Trites Rolle to the Planning Commission. Mr. <br />Hunt's ierm would expire December 31, 2011 and Ms. Trites Rolle's term would expire <br />December 31, 2010. <br /> <br /> 4) Introduction of an Ordinance Amending Section 2.03, Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook explained at the March 14, 2006 City Council meeting, the Council voted <br />to amend the P, olicy for Appointing Board and Commission Members by eliminating term limits. <br />Approval of this ordinance will allow commissioners to serve four-year terms indefinitely, <br />except that the Council may decide not to reappoint a board or commission member after his or <br />her term has expired. The recommendation of the Personnel Committee was to introduce the <br />ordinance amending the section of the City Code in relati°n to the term limits. <br /> <br />Motion by Conncilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Case Nos. 1 through 4 and to adolSt Resolution <br />#05-03-113 ending the probationary period for Michael Berge and granting him status as a full- <br />time regular Parks Lead Person; to adopt Resolution #06-03-114 ending the probationary period <br />for Patrick Trudgeon and granting him status as the full-time regular Community Development <br />Director; and adopt Resolution #06-03-115 to appoint Ralph Hunt to the Planning CommiSsion <br />with a term to expire December 31, 2011 and appoint Jessica Trites Rolle to the Planning <br />Commission with a term to expire December 31, 2010; and to introduce an ordinance to amend <br />Chapter 2.0-3 of the City Code, titled "Boards and Commissions" by amending Section 2.03.02, <br />sub& 6,"l'erm Limits" to "Terms". <br /> <br /> City Council / March 28, 2006 <br /> Page 30 of 31 <br />P76 <br /> <br /> <br />
